Maureen A. Devine has practiced law in Massachusetts for thirty years.  She began at the Department of Mental Health, and then served for five years as a state prosecutor.  In private practice, Attorney Devine has represented clients in the criminal sessions of the District and Superior Courts.  She has represented clients in the Probate and Family Courts in matters including separation, divorce, modification, contempt, paternity, adoptions and name changes.  She has also served as counsel for the mentally ill and developmentally disabled, and has been appointed guardian, conservator and guardian ad litem in a variety of cases and courts in the Commonwealth.  The practice has always included child advocacy, and Attorney Devine has served as counsel  and as GAL in cases with the Department of Children and Families, formerly known as the Department of Social Services.  A member of the Massachusetts Association of Guardian ad Litems (MAGAL), Attorney Devine accepts appointments as guardian ad litem and as a parent coordinator.  With a graduate degree in Special Education, and as a former member of the Hingham School Committee, Attorney Devine is well-equipped to represent individuals who are seeking services from their public school systems.  She is a licensed real estate broker and a former small business owner.
